Infinera is seeking an experienced Senior Automation Test Engineer for our Optical Telecom and Networking Systems to contribute to the system design and verification of optical communication systems.The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our teams to translate system requirements into test plans and automation tools. The responsibilities of this role will include building an automated test platform, verifying the test plan, abstracting complexity into simplicity, and identifying issues in the system under test.The role will require working on complex problems and will involve gaining experience in advanced optical communication systems, as well as controlling various products and instruments, such as 800G line modules, ROADMs, EDFAs, Raman amplifiers, OPM, and other optical instruments. The Senior Test Automation Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our optical communication systems, and will have the opportunity to grow their skills and expertise in this field.Education & Experience:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer EngineeringMinimum of 3 years of engineering experience in Test & AutomationMinimum of 3 years of experience in a telecommunication systems environmentExperience in optical communication systems (e.g., ROADM, EDFA, OPM) is a plus Skill Requirements:Strong proficiency in Python programming languageFamiliarity in other programming languages such as Java, MATLAB, VB.net, C#, and JavaScriptExperience with SQL database management and handling large dataExperience with SSH, Telnet, API based automation and testing and toolsKnowledge of software testing concepts, methodologies, and toolsExperience with test automation tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, Appium, Robot Framework, or CypressUnderstanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptFamiliarity with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices and tools, such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CDExperience with version control systems, such as GitAbility to control network equipment and instruments over scpi, TCPIP, SSH, RestAPI, gRPC, and Telemetry streamingFamiliarity with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or KanbanStrong problem-solving skillsGood communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environmentAbility to write engineering documents and design specificationsExperience with Unix/Linux environments is a plus.#LI-JP1Infinera is an equal opportunity employer.
