Job Description:Infinera is seeking an intern to join our Optical Systems Group (OSG). The intern will work in a cross-functional team focused on digital-optical integration of our 400G-XR coherent pluggables based on Infinera's next-generation coherent photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and FlexCoherent DSP ASICs. Specifically, they will work with their fellow OSG members on the design, implementation, & maintenance of various calibration algorithms to optimize system level performance. The ideal candidate should be prepared to work with early prototype PICs, analog ASICs, and control systems to further the development of short term and long-term enabling technologies.Your Key Responsibilities Would Include:Be a part of cross-functional team for integration of DSP and optics (digital-optical integration) for our 400G coherent pluggables.Develop, optimize, and automate calibration setups and algorithms to maximize system level performance.Build and maintain lab setups for calibration and performance characterization.Education & Experience Necessary:Student in Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics. Prior work experience in optical communications, digital signal processing, and coherent systems is a plus.Fundamental understanding of optical communication systems, photonic integrated components, electronic (integrated) circuits, and signal analysis and processing.Hands-on experience working with system-level optical communication hardware and components.Hands-on experience with high-speed optical and electrical test, and measurement equipment.Programming experience in MATLAB and Python.Location: Onsite Ottawa OfficeInfinera is an equal opportunity employer.
