Senior Java Software DeveloperGeneral PurposeInfinera is looking for a Senior Java developer to join its NMS Planning Tools group in Lisbon. The successful candidate will be participating in the development of an application for planning and optimization of optical telecommunication networks.Main Responsibility AreaThe candidate will work as an integral part of a cross-functional development team taking full responsibility to deliver high quality software and create value to the organization. The candidate will participate in the complete development cycle, including analysis, design, implementation and tests of the features that are in their scope of responsibility.Position DescriptionYou will be building the core of our application, considering both the end-to-end requirements as well as the internal core simulation models for optical network planning and optimization.You will participate in a highly skilled team of engineers, contributing to all aspects of software engineering, from design to implementation, testing and maintenance using our technology stack: Java, Spring Boot, JUnit, Mockito, Angular, NodeJS, PostgreSQL.Close collaboration with architecture team will be required to construct the internal models of the tool, and obtain efficient optimization algorithms which deliver high quality solutions to our users.Position RequirementsRequirementsMsC degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications.3+ years software development experience using Java.Knowledge of our tech stack is nice to have, but most important is the willingness to take on new technologies and challenges.Fluent English, spoken and written.Personal AttributesStrong taste for programming solutions to complex problems.Analytical skills and desire to write clean, correct, and efficient code.Good communication skills including capacity to share knowledge and mentor other colleagues.Ability to break down complex problems into simple solutions.Sense of ownership, urgency and pride in your work.Open communication and ability to work in an international team.Infinera is an equal opportunity employer.
