Optical Systems Group Intern

ContractorKey Responsibilities:Be a part of cross-functional team for integration of DSP and optics (digital coherent optical integration) for coherent pluggable modules and embedded systems.Modelling of performance tradeoffs in the DSP implementationExperimental evaluation of prototype hardwareBuilding new measurement capability in a laboratory environmentAnalysis of results and assessment of impact on system level performanceEducation & Experience Necessary:Masters or PhD. student in Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics. Prior experience in optical communications, digital signal processing, and coherent systems is a plus.Fundamental understanding of optical communication systems, photonic integrated components, electronic (integrated) circuits, and signal analysis and processing.Hands-on experience working with system-level optical communication hardware and components.Hands-on experience with high-speed optical and electrical test and measurement equipment, control and data acquisition.Programming experience in MATLAB and Python.Worker Type:Intern/contractInfinera is an equal opportunity employer.
