The SE Director is the technical leader for Infinera in ANZ. Responsible for actively driving and managing the technology proposition and evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for the Infinera product portfolio to customers. The SE Director must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business commercial and technical customers. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle maintaining senior level relationships. Has strong leadership and managerial skills with a keen interest to enable and mentor a team distributed across the region.Key Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesWork as pre-sale technical support for business in Australia & New Zealand (and other countries in APAC)Providing leadership, guidance and mentorship to members of the team.Responsible for development and delivery of technical product presentations / demonstrations.Managing and interpreting customer requirements - speaking with customers to understand, anticipate and meet their needs.Articulating to customers that a product or design solution best satisfies their requirements in terms of reliability, scalability, price and delivery.Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.Able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.Able to convey customer feature requirements to corporate Product Line Management teams.Able to travel throughout the sales region.Develop and grow long-term relationships with customers.Producing customer orderable quotations.Provide after-sales support services.Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts.Personality: You will be self-driven with a positive outlook and comfortable in dealing with senior company executives, while supporting the individual team members. You will be reliable and determined with excellent communication skills able to see things from another person's perspective. You are well-presented and business like and sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel regularly to customer sites in ANZ.Specific Job SkillsExperience in optical and transmission systems engineering with a strong knowledge of telecommunications especially long haul DWDM transmission systems.Strong background in Data and Optical networking (i.e. Switch, Router, MSPP and DWDM/ROADM) experience is mandatory requiredExperience in mobile and access systems engineering including mobile back haul and front haul.Exceptional presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiencesTelecommunication Network Planning (long-haul, metro, access)Possess a strong ability to turn concepts through the design cycle including solution development and cost modellingAn articulate communicator, with excellent writing and social skills and an analytical approach to provide appropriate solutions to whichever tasks are presented.QualificationsIdeal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in system engineering and possess a strong knowledge of Long-haul, Metro, Access and Mobile technologies. The candidate must also be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical sales organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFP’s and when submitting reports.
