To ensure success, you are passionate about growing collaborative teams that scale, establishing an industry-leading research practice, and defining a user experience research vision & strategy to drive the future.You will oversee global teams of user researchers and research operations to deliver in-depth insights that create world-class experiences.  You will work in partnership with Design, Data Science, Product Management, and Engineering leaders to help our teams deeply understand and empathize with users and the complexity of their work. In this role you will report to the Sr. Director of Design and Analytics for the Architecture, Engineering & Construction Design (AEC Design) Platform organization at Autodesk.  The AEC Design organization is tasked with delivering best-in-class design, documentation, and analysis solutions that delight our customers. We provide designers, engineers, and contractors a set of BIM and CAD tools supported by a cloud-based common data environment that facilitates project delivery from early-stage design through to construction.  Autodesk products reach millions of customers, generate over 1B dollars in annual revenue, and create experiences that change how the world is designed and made!ResponsibilitiesAdvocate for user-centric and data-driven experiences that cross product workflows and align to business strategyOwn strategic relationships with leaders across businesses to understand current and anticipate future business needs facilitated by the application of research, analytics, and experimentationServe as a thought leader and evangelist for UX research across the company, contributing to an inclusive and collaborative cultureDevelop and execute against a holistic vision and strategy for modern user experience research; blending research and analytics insight in a globally distributed, matrixed environmentDevelop strategic research roadmaps to support executive and product team decision makingChampion research community and operational platforms that scale to support all of AutodeskCoach and grow research managers to broaden impact, achieve goals, and further contribute to the vision and operations of the research practiceAnticipate the changing demands for skills, attracting and retaining the best people for our future successEarn the trust of senior leaders that our qualitative and quantitative data is reliable, meaningful, and that we are actively resolving anything that might undermine the legitimacy of our insightMinimum Qualifications15+ years of relevant professional experience in UX research with exposure to both quantitative and qualitative techniques7+ years directly managing, coaching, and developing full-time researchers3+ years of experience managing managersA strong analytical skillset and the ability to distill complex ideas, and large amounts of data and viewpoints, to their essenceExperience building and setting research strategy that connects with business strategyProven track record of translating research into business impactAn excellent storyteller capable of communicating impact and outcomes to executive audiencesPreferred QualificationsAdvanced degree or equivalent work experienceExperience with SaaS product developmentArchitecture, Engineering, Construction industry experienceExperience directly conducting primary research (either qualitative or quantitative) end-to-end (i.e., designing, fielding, analyzing and reporting out data)Experience with data science and data engineering technologies and practicesUnderstanding of data models and complex data systems to influence how our lines of business apply user experience dataAt Autodesk, we're building a diverse workplace and an inclusive culture to give more people the chance to imagine, design, and make a better world.
