Job Requisition ID #23WD67076Position OverviewAs part of the Platform Services and Emerging Technologies (PSET) organization, the Director of Engineering and HA Architecture will lead engineering teams delivering User Profile and Identity services for the company and will establish and drive a high availability technical strategy across the Identity and Licensing service platforms.As an ideal candidate, you have successfully led teams delivering scalable and highly available cloud services, in a fast-paced and agile environment. You have an expert understanding of user profile, personalization, authorization, and authentication capabilities. Demonstrated experience defining and driving a horizontal technical strategy for high availability services. You know how to build and guide high-performing teams, mentoring software engineers and engineering managers alike, as well as developing strong relationships with cross functional and cross organizational partners.ResponsibilitiesImplement highly available, scalable services supporting the company User Profile services and Identity authorization and authentication servicesDefine technical strategy and drive engineering efforts for high availability across the Identity and Licensing domainsGrow and lead an engineering team, comprised of 15 members with a budget of ~$5m annuallyRecruit, coach and inspire engineering teams to successfully deliver the strategic application portfolioChampion and drive best in class engineering practicesEnsure strategic, architectural, organizational, and budgetary collaboration and alignmentBuild a culture of trust and collaboration amongst your team and stakeholdersAchieve influence and alignment on strategy and execution with Autodesk stakeholdersMinimum QualificationsBS or equivalent in Computer Science15+ years of progressive, commercial software development experienceExtensive experience designing and developing scalable, highly available, distributed servicesRelevant experience with identity and access management technologies (OAuth, OpenID, SAML)Relevant experience with user profile services (collection, segmentation, personalization)Deep understanding of cloud-native development, scalable computing systems, domain driven design, software architecture, data structures and algorithmsExcellent technical understanding and experience in some of: Java, Javascript/NodeJS, GraphQL, GoLangExperience with Amazon Web ServicesThe Ideal Candidate Successfully managed teams who have built and run large, distributed services and applicationsDeep understanding and architect-like skillset in high availability architecture and infrastructureSpecialization and industry understanding of Identity and User ProfileSuperb skills in identifying, recruiting, and developing technical talentA passion for coaching and mentoring high performing teamsAbility to articulate technical strategy, challenges, impacts, and trade-offs at a senior executive levelDemonstrated experience in adapting and improving engineering best practicesExperience working in a multi-cultural, highly diverse environment and developing a culture of inclusionExcellent relationship building across all levels of an organizationClick below to learn more about our benefits in the US.https://benefits.autodesk.com/ At Autodesk, we're building a diverse workplace and an inclusive culture to give more people the chance to imagine, design, and make a better world. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $170,000 and $275,880. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
