This team defines and builds the software platform the Fusion 360 family of products is built upon. We are looking for an ambitious and self-driven Software Architect to help us fulfill the mission of the organization which is to drive our new efforts in creating a web-based Architecture that supports our cross platform device independence including focus on creating a new framework that also supports parity between Native/Mobile and Browser development.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for making design choices, coordinate and overseeing technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platformsWork closely with the Native – Device independence team to make the changes to the core Fusion 360 platform and achieve cross platform device independenceLead design discussions and breakdown of work that might involve:Using Shared code with interfacesIntegration with Autodesk capabilitiesCompute Architecture (Multi-client and server interaction)Suggest and implement solutions for process improvementWrite technical design documents as needed, participate in design and code reviews, work with development team to drive high level estimates for tasks and document codeWork with an extended team of software developers, QAs and product designers in the US and other worldwide engineering sitesPay attention to system integration, sustainability, and feasibilityGuide and train developers and engineersMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other relevant engineering discipline3+ years of experience as a Software Architect or similar roleMinimum 12 years of professional experience developing web based, client-server experiencesCurrent knowledge of React.js, C++, standards and specificationsProficiency in Web standards fundamentals, development (for example, experience building a framework (not just an application))Experience in working on projects involving rich interactivity in Web Apps (Example: On-Mouse moves (dynamic))Experienced in Connectivity to Stateful servers and Microservices Ability to research and recommend technologies for selection in the following categories: Memory, Resource Utilization, Threading, Expensive computations and their management, Mobile optimization/accessibility Any experience like web components implementation for an agnostic frameworkKnowledge of frameworks such as 3D Web & WebGL technologies, Rendering, ShadersGood leadership skillsThe sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s successCritical thinker and problem-solving skillsAbility to work well in a team to deliver on team goalsBasics of Networking/Communication Technologies including Serialization/DeserializationKnowledge in OOPs for Typescript, local storagePreferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of Web AssemblyKnowledge of frameworks such as ThreeGSFamiliar with cross-platform application development using Visual Studio development environment on Windows and XCode on the MacOSExperience with Scrum methodologyMobile and Browser development experience is a plusAbility to learn large software systems quicklyAt Autodesk, we're building a diverse workplace and an inclusive culture to give more people the chance to imagine, design, and make a better world.
