The future potential of applications is nearly limitless and we’re well-positioned to take F5 to the next level—and beyond.  Position SummaryThe VP and GM, NGINX is accountable for bookings, annual recurring revenue (ARR), contribution margin for F5’s NGINX business. The business is $110M+ ARR. They will lead a team of ~150 across Product Management, Engineering, Product Marketing, and Services and Support to drive customer success and growth.This leader must be effective operating in a matrix organization and creating clarity and alignment within their domain of operation as well as more broadly across the F5 senior leadership. This leader must be very strong at partnering with other organizations or functions and senior leaders across the company to formulate winning strategies and successfully execute initiatives.This leader will bring deep insights into the market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer needs in the Modern Apps and DevOps markets. As the spokesperson for a product portfolio, they must have proven people leadership, negotiation, and presentation skills and be capable of communicating at the executive level with customers, industry analysts, and press.Primary Responsibilities Manage P&L of the NGINX business – accountable for bookings, ARR, and contribution marginLead NGINX team to successfully execute strategy of driving customer success and growthDefine the future product portfolio, including managing the product roadmap and interdependenciesSupport the field sales team with customer engagements, including communicating the roadmap, collaborating on future capabilities, reviewing and approving deals, and managing escalationsRepresent F5 as a credible, engaging spokesperson to effectively influence key constituents such as customers, partners, press, and analysts to establish F5 as a leader in advanced security solutionsLead ongoing analysis of portfolio success against defined internal metrics and against other industry competitors; responsible for measuring and reporting ongoing end-user satisfaction with product offeringsLead, mentor, and develop team members to advance their skills sets and assist them to achieve their career goalsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Deep knowledge of Modern Apps, DevOps, and Open Source market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer needsExperience scaling Open Source-based businessExperience scaling SaaS offeringsDrives decisions that are customer-backed and data-drivenOutstanding written and verbal communicationsStrong customer orientation with the ability to listen, communicate, organize, and champion key initiativesAbility to drive successful partnership across an ecosystem of providersExcellent leadership, negotiation, and persuasion skillsExternal presence; high energy and outbound, frequent traveler who will represent F5 as a credible ambassador on behalf of the senior executive team.Ability to brief and communicate effectively with executive leadershipAbility to lead in a matrixed organization through effective management and motivation of direct reports and extended teamQualificationsBA/BS degree required, MBA a plusMultiple roles in product management and portfolio managementExperience leading organizations at scale The Job Description is intended to be a general representation of the responsibilities and requirements of the job.
