This role will focus on driving Illumina's objectives on integrating the adoption of sequencing technologies and comprehensive genomic insights into clinical practice guidelines, precision medicine treatment pathways, reimbursement strategies and patient care management in oncology. This role will work across Illumina's Global functions to lead alignment with corporate goals and objectives, including cross-functional collaborations with Product Development, Business Development, Marketing, Commercial, Market Access, and Government Affairs.Key Responsibilities:In collaboration with Medical Genomics Research, Scientific Affairs, Market Access, Market Development and other cross-functional teams, lead the development of global evidence generation strategy to help generate sound clinical and scientific evidence to accelerate clinical adoption and influence guideline development.Lead the development of best practices to build strategic partnerships with global KOLs to ensure that the Illumina Oncology portfolio is appropriately incorporated and positioned in treatment guidelines and protocols by providing balanced, scientific information.Provide leadership within Medical Affairs and subject matter expertise in comprehensive genomic profiling, whole genome and transcriptome sequencing, liquid biopsy and other topics in interactions with pharma/biotech partners as well as with Commercial and Marketing, Business Development, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Quality, R&D, Bioinformatics and other functional groups as needed.Work closely with Marketing, Marketing Development, Assay/Product Development as well as life cycle team and regional teams to support the execution of the launch strategy, ensuring internal and external launch readinessLead the development of scientific education content and in-house training for the Medical Affairs team and other appropriate staff as required, and support adaptation of training content for clinical specialists in collaboration with Marketing and other relevant internal stakeholdersIn collaboration with Scientific Affairs, lead the development and implementation of scientific publication plans including Oncology congress planningParticipate in local, regional, and international meetings, congress, and symposia, contributing to supporting Illumina’s objectives.Develop congress reporting and summaries, collect data on competitors and market developmentMaintain an in-depth understanding of relevant medical strategy and clinical, patient/caregiver, payer and healthcare/market landscape.Responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed above and changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.Qualifications Minimum RequirementsExperience/Education:Typically requires a minimum of 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience in pharmaceutical and/or diagnostic medical affairs planning and management experience. Experience in managing clinical studies in oncology or diagnostics will be valuable.Broad knowledge of all areas within a Corporate sub-function or a function within an operation. Has depth of technical knowledge in function derived from experience in individual contributor and middle management roles.Requires high level understanding of oncology and genetics markets and sales opportunities for the company’s products. #LI-REMOTEThe estimated base salary range for the Senior Manager, Medical Affairs (Remote) role based in the United States of America is: $149,600 - $224,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
