You will define and perform preventive maintenance on optical, mechanical, electrical and fluidics systems. You will work to improve equipment uptime and reliability. You will also apply organic chemistry principles in troubleshooting manufacturing and equipment process issues.All About YouResponsibilities:Define and perform preventive maintenance on optical, mechanical, electrical and fluidics systemsUse mechanical, optical, fluidics and organic chemistry knowledge to troubleshoot manufacturing process and equipment issues, as they arisePerform basic computer/software troubleshootingDevelop, write and update manuals and proceduresTrain other engineers and production personnel on procedure, process and equipment changesWork in a team environment to improve equipment reliability and uptimeConstruct and execute controlled experiments (including DOE's) to address equipment-related yield and quality issues and drives implementation of solutions in a production environment to meet production goalsDevelop or source alternative replacement for obsoleted parts and execute changes through change managementOn night shift, provide maintenance and process support to a high volume manufacturing organizationRequirements:Minimum of 2 years experience in high volume manufacturing environment preferredCandidate has experience with opto/mechanical/electrical system, fluidics and organic chemistry processes (preferably DNA-related)Competencies:Strong demonstrated mechanical aptitude is requiredExperience in writing procedures and training is requiredBasic computer troubleshooting skills are requiredGood inter-departmental communication skills and documentation skills are requiredDemonstrated ability to work independently is requiredExperience with Statistical Process Control, JMP and DOE techniques is a plusEducation:BSc/B.
