It is a highly collaborative role where you are expected to lead complex cross functional technical troubleshooting investigations in a fast paced and dynamic environment.ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the Global R&D Operations & Portfolio Management leadership team, manage quarterly forecasting of resources, project trade-offs, prioritization, alignment, and execution across the On-Market Portfolio.Manage strategic trade-offs between investments in supply continuity, customer satisfaction, and feature enhancement projects to maximize value for Illumina and its customers.Lead the On-Market Portfolio team including overseeing the recruitment and performance management of a cross-functional multi-level team including technical and program management staff.Manage portfolio governance through regular stakeholder reviews, monthly reporting of deliverables and key performance indicators, and project governance meetings as appropriate.Manage functional, program, and project budgets through planning and regular forecasting.As part of the extended R&D leadership team contribute to strategic planning of Illumina’s future product roadmaps.Work closely with Product Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing on the product lifecycle planning for Illumina’s on-market product portfolio.Establish a strong working relationship with Regional Support leadership to understand systemic product issues in the field and provide senior-level bi-directional communication.Identify and manage key functional relationships in the business to drive alignment with key stakeholders and influence across functions, sites, and geographies to achieve portfolio priorities.Identify and drive training and development opportunities for employees.Continually identify and contribute to the implementation of process improvements to drive increased team effectiveness.QualificationsB.S./M.S./Ph.D. in Engineering, Science, or related fieldTypically has a minimum 15 years of relevant experience managing product development, production sustaining, process development, design, scale-up, improvement, and validationTypically has 7+ years of team management experienceProven success in leading complex, multidimensional projects, programs and teamsDemonstrated success leading in a matrixed environmentExpert at communicating status, risks, and recommendations as well as obtaining decisions from executive leadershipSolid written and verbal communication skillsExperience of working within an IVD/Dx environment and the essential quality and regulatory requirementsAdvanced knowledge of Illumina’s market landscape, platform performance and customer baseSolid understanding of the role of the operations team and the need to support supply continuity projects.Deep understanding of customer – Illumina interfaces and customer complaint escalation processesAble to cultivates strong relationships across the company and externallyDetailed understanding of Illumina organization and processes#LI-HYBRIDThe estimated base salary range for the Sr. Director, On-Market Portfolio Manager role based in the United States of America is: $197,200 - $295,800. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
