You will be involved in collaborating with both external and internal customers across the globe to provide best solutions therefore excellent problem-solving skills is essential. You will come from a life science, biotech or similar industry and be able to understand how sequencing/assays work having automation on mind and understands how systems work together along with having excellent project management experience. You will be collaborating with multi-disciplined teams globally.  Successful candidate will have a passion for improving healthcare through systems/automation to be successful in this role.Responsibilities include Lead the development of high quality, robust system level products and end to end workflows through the innovative integration of existing and soon to be released new productsWork with customers from government level to individual PIs and translate customer needs into requirements helping to develop high quality productsCollaborate with key Illumina R/D functions such as Product Dev, RTD and Medical Genomics to stay abreast of new developmentsCollaborate deeply with commercial functions such marketing, sales and S/S to bring these products to market.Design and execute test plans and optimize systems product (systems and workflows) performanceSupervise and direct managers, scientists and researchersEngage in the early design of products to represent CCI and customer derived knowledgeDevelop test plans to validate product performanceAnalyze data and troubleshoot issuesAble to suggest creative solutions to integration issuesWillingness to be hands-onPreferred background, skills and experienceAbility to view at a systems levelA broad scientific knowledge (instrumentation, automation, chemistry, molecular biology, software etc)Multidisciplinary approach to problem solvingAbility to supervise and direct scientists and research assistantsExperience of giving input to product design at an early stage of developmentExperience and knowledge of the ways that changes in one part of systems can affect performance of other parts and the whole systemExperience writing and executing test plans to validate systems-based products performance and robustnessDemonstrated ability to understand and successfully work across multiple disciplines such as engineering, software, and manufacturing highly desired.Must be detail oriented and highly motivated.A desire to be a part of a fast paced, multidisciplinary and dynamic environment.Solid communication and writing skills requiredExperience/Education:Requires PhD in a scientific discipline or equivalentExperience in the field of sequencing would be advantageousConsiderable experience in successful, commercial product development preferredSignificant years’ experience in a sales organization preferredBroad knowledge of all areas within Corporate sub-function or a function within an operation.
