You will play an important role in the research and development of sequencing consumables with the world-class performance, accessibility, stability and robustness characteristics that our customers require.You will be responsible for developing cutting edge technologies and related assays by designing and executing experiments, collecting data, performing analysis, drawing conclusions and presenting to key stakeholders. Responsibilities:Design and create new materials; develop and optimize surface functionalization chemistry and process, for novel consumable used in Illumina’s NGS platformsDesign and perform experiments, communicate results and conclusions to aid in team decision-makingContribute to ongoing research and development projects in a fast-paced environmentKeep detailed lab notebooks, prepare reports, updates, and summaries for managers and team. Write technical reports and prepare presentations for cross functional and cross-site technical teamsUpkeep of lab equipment, laboratory supplies and good housekeepingBe both a strong individual contributor as well as a collaborative team member within multi-disciplinary teamsRequirements:Ability to work on novel materials design, polymer synthesis and characterization.
