This role will be responsible for managing and growing Illumina’s Oncology assay portfolio, working at the forefront to drive improvement in cancer care, treatment, and outcomes.Responsibilities:Product Lifecycle Management:Manages on-market products to drive uptake and growth; manages product enhancements, develops promotions and provides sales supportInterfaces with manufacturing operations, quality and planning to ensure product supply and performance meet customer expectationsProvides short and long-term demand forecastsLeads marketing strategy for new and sustaining assay projects, from product concept to EOLServes as primary customer advocate during product development; defines market requirements and drive tradeoff decisionsDefines product value proposition, positioning and pricing, working with market access, medical affairs and segment marketingPartners with Segment and Regional Marketing teams to provide guidance, input, and support for launch strategy and plansDevelops & delivers content for new product technical & sales trainingBusiness Planning and Strategy:Assesses market needs and gaps, opportunities and trends, and competitive landscape for Oncology NGS assaysContributes to market and product portfolio strategyContributes to long-term business strategy, including emerging applicationsDevelops new product proposals and business casesCross-functional Leadership:Creates and fosters a strong team spirit and assumes the role of product and customer champion and evangelist across the organizationCoordinates relationships with key customers and partnersSkills Required:Track record of developing, launching and sustaining products in the IVD market; preferably molecular testsUnderstanding of clinical customers, laboratory workflows and validation activities, from sample to result, as well as downstream activities through patient reportingUnderstanding of global regulatory and reimbursement considerationsExperience in oncology solid tumor and/or liquid biopsy assays, preferredKnowledge of genomics, next generation sequencing and molecular biology productsAbility to own both long-term strategy and executional detailStrong analytical skills, including experience in creating complex market and revenue models, financial analysis; advanced use of Excel desirableExperience conducting market research, survey analysis, voice of customer and other foundational marketing and product management activitiesExperience working in cross-functional teams, and ability to influence across the organization at all levelsExceptional time and project management skills and ability to independently prioritize competing requestsStrong written, communication and presentation skillsAble to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environmentQualifications and Other Requirements:BS or BA in biology- or genomics-related field; MBA preferred5+ years of experience in marketing, sales or other customer-facing role in Life Sciences or Clinical field; advanced degree can substitute for some work experience3-5 years in product management, preferably molecular IVD testsAbility to travel up to approximately 20% on averageThe estimated base salary range for the Sr. Product Manager, Oncology role based in the United States of America is: $103,500 - $155,300. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
