You will participate in the development of high quality, robust products through the integration of hardware, software and chemistry components. You will also design and execute test plans and optimize systems product performance.  Key ResponsibilitiesHands-on testing and integration of DNA sequencing systems - hardware, firmware, software, chemistry/reagents, and application componentsSupport the development, testing and verification of Illumina library prep workflowsExecution of verification and validation test plans for Illumina’s platform and productsTracking and logging of issues encountered during the development processManage and analyze large data sets to troubleshoot system level issuesWork effectively within a cross-functional project team (development, manufacturing, marketing, service, etc.)Write new procedures for instrument testing and library prep workflowsListed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs. Required Qualifications:2+ years of overall experience with focus on biological techniques and or instrumentation desiredStrong hands-on experience in library preparation workflows and molecular biology assaysUnderstanding of sequencing systems, library preparation methodology, molecular biology and similar techniquesHands-on experience with automation systems is a plusExperiences in programming language, i.e. Python, R, Matlab, etc, for data analysis and management is desiredDemonstrated ability to solve difficult hardware/software/chemistry integration issuesMust be passionate about troubleshooting and problem-solving and be extremely detailed orientedSolid communication and writing skills are requiredA desire to be a part of a fast paced, multidisciplinary and dynamic environment is a mustEducation Requirements:B.S./M.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalentThe estimated base salary range for the Systems Integration Scientist/Engineer 2 role based in the United States of America is: $79,300 - $118,900. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
