They develop initiatives to improve event performance/ROI, improve processes and provide best practices.  They are responsible for people management, hiring, mentoring, team development, performance, and more in order to build a best-in-class events team.  Illumina's employee benefits are industry-leading and include, flexible time off, private medical insurance, compassion and care time off, leisure travel insurance, pension, lifestyle allowance, employee stock purchasing program, volunteer time off and much more!  Why you  As our Events Team Manager, you will have a demonstrable background in a similar role, be collaborative, with previous management experience.   Responsibilities include  Manages team in order to create high performing and highly engaged team Creates initiatives and improves processes to improve team performance Manages and executes regional events in alignment with company strategic priorities. Plans, manages and executes all aspects associated with tradeshows and Illumina hosted events (face-to-face and virtual), incl. all pre, during and post event digital activities such as e-mails, registration websites, and interactive digital content Manages events in-house as well as through agencies, and provides the link between agency and Illumina Provides expertise and best practices to stakeholders, e.g. Go Local marketing managers, segment teams and senior management, on event strategy, execution and tools Responsible for event vendor management and logistical coordination in accordance with governance and Internal agency vendor management guidelines Tracks event budget, and event performance and provides reporting   Preferred background, skills and experience University/college degree in marketing, communications, or related field required, or equivalent work experience Must have previous people management/leadership experience  Must have corporate event planning experience including managing budget, venue sourcing, contracting, registration, housing, ground transportation, audio/visual, reporting, management/assessment of virtual event platforms Strong leadership skills Strong oral and written communication skills Must have demonstrated effective collaboration in a matrix or highly cross-functional business Experience within a highly regulated environment highly desired  Ability to travel up to 30% of the time  What can you expect  Our team members are bright, energetic and dedicated - they are the driving force behind our innovation and impact.
