Based at our offices in Granta Park, Cambridge. Our program focuses on meaningful project work, professional and personal development, in addition to providing networking opportunities.Your team:The Omics Methods group is working to maximize the medical utility of sequencing data. To achieve this goal we are developing computational methods for innovative analyses of a wide range of sequencing technologies. The work in our group is highly collaborative and involves regular interactions with other informatics groups, assay development teams, and external laboratories.The successful candidate is a detail-oriented individual that is driven to develop products that demonstrate the clinical utility of multiomics data with SBS sequencing technology. You are excited to apply statistical methods to analyse large data sets working with scientists of different backgrounds in a highly collaborative environment.Role and Responsibilities:Data analysis and statistical analysis of multiomics and WGS dataInformatics support for new sequencing platforms and technologiesCollaborations with clinical labs to design experiments that demonstrate the utility of multi-omic data to resolve rare and undiagnosed genetic diseasesPresentation of research findings internally and externally through presentations and manuscriptsPreferred experience and qualifications:PhD or Masters student in bioinformatics, statistics, computer science, genetics or related field of studyProficiency in Python, R or similar languages and working in a Linux environmentUnderstanding of standard statistical methodsStrong communication skills and ability to describe complex analysis to a wide audienceExperience in analysing sequencing data will be a merit, but not a requirementWhat can you expect:With Illumina you can expect to be paid for your time during your internship.
