Then, this position could be the right role for you!The position manages technical/engineering activities of sustaining, evaluation, and modification/redesign of critical electrical components and PCA or cable sub-assemblies which integrate into a larger, complex instrumentation in DNA sequencing.The position will be responsible for driving continuous improvements, cost reduction, and outsourcing efforts. The responsibility also includes providing technical support throughout the product development process (PDP), and being a part of new product introduction (NPI) functions, including redesign of current products, development of engineering specifications and requirements, test and characterization, and generation of engineering documentation.Responsibilities:Take an SME (Subject Matter Expert) role for major high-speed hybrid PCA redesign collaborating with internal engineering team or external design service contractors and manage the design service contracts.Work with strategic global supply to identify best electrical components to redesign products or come up with solutions for sustaining longevity.Troubleshoot sub-system level design and quality defects in existing and newly designed products, including running FMEA analysis in PCAs and electrical systems.Work with or guide test engineering team to redesign and maintain test protocols and test fixtures and process improvements based the design changes made, and ultimately establish a test engineering process for the operationConduct research that analyzes the design, operation and performance of electrical components and systems to improve product reliability and longevity.Participate in NPI (New Product Introduction) transfer efforts to manufacturing and in design reviews with engineering review board teamsCollaborate with Contract Manufacturers to assure successful product release and transfer in subsystem outsourcing efforts.Review verification & validation protocols from CMs and approve for their execution. Review V&V test reports from CMs and approve, document and release the protocols & reports to PLM.Implement ECO changes to product and manufacturing processesRequirements:Experience with FPGA (AMD/Xilinx or Intel/Altera) and CPU/MPU (RISC type or ARM core) based design (Understanding on HDL, Vivado, C/C#/Python preferred)Experience with engineering design service contractors and associated technical project management in terms of PCA design or electrical sub-systemsExperience with hybrid PCA design (Analog, Digital and Power electronics)Can do troubleshooting and debugging at system-level and component-level design problems.Experience with Altium Designer (Preferred) or OrCAD design software including PCB layoutExperience with PCA or HLA (High level Assembly) test fixture developmentFamiliar with latest software tools such as MS Office 365, Lucid Chart, Asana, JIRA & Confluence, Ariba, etc. (or similar apps)Demonstrated use and understanding of change management process through PLM, PDM, ERP and MRP (For example, Agile or SAP, TeamCenter)Experience in biotech, biomedical, nanotechnology or semiconductor industries preferred but not limited.Experience with FDA regulated medical device product development preferred.Education:BSEE/MSEE in Electrical Engineering:Senior EE: 5+ years with BS or 3+ years with MS or fresh PhDThe estimated base salary range for the Senior Electrical Engineer role based in the United States of America is: $119,500 - $179,300. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
