Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.Position Summary:This individual will work in a team environment to prepare and prosecute company patent applications, evaluate intellectual property landscapes around projects, and assist with other intellectual property matters.Responsibilities:Prepare 20+ patent applications in-house per year across a variety of technologies.Directly prosecute US applications.Manage a global portfolio of patent prosecution.Assist attorneys with identifying and evaluating patentable inventions emerging from dynamic, multi-disciplined research projects.Assist attorneys with evaluation of intellectual property landscapes and freedom to operate analyses.Other responsibilities based on candidate qualifications, including assisting with updates to in-house policies and procedures.Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.Requirements:Strong background in at least one of the following technical areas: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or material science/polymers; and must be comfortable interfacing with technical personnel while performing job duties related to all of these technical areas.Strong knowledge of patent law.Registered patent agent with the USPTO.All listed requirements are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional tasks and responsibilities.Experience/Education:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or material science/polymers or equivalent.Minimum of 2 years of active patent prosecution experience.Law firm experience preferred.#LI-HYBRIDThe estimated base salary range for the Patent Agent (Hybrid) role based in the United States of America is: $103,500 - $155,300. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
