Sr. Tax Accountant

Job DescriptionWhere you’ll work: US remoteThe Senior Tax Accountant, reporting to the Senior Tax Manager, will be a critical part of the GoTo Tax Department. The Senior Tax Accountant role will lead the federal tax function and contribute to many aspects of the day-to-day tax operations for both direct and indirect taxes.Your Day to DayDirect TaxesPrepare quarterly and year-end tax provisions in accordance with ASC740Maintain accruals for uncertain tax positions (FIN48)Prepare relevant tax reporting including financial statement and regulatory tax disclosuresMaintain reconciliations for key tax accountsManage the tax compliance processes with third party providersProvide cash tax forecasts and prepare quarterly estimated paymentsSupport federal and state income tax audits as necessaryIndirect TaxesReview account reconciliations for various indirect tax accrualsPrepare and review various indirect tax returns (property, sales etc.)Analyze and improve indirect tax processes as necessarySupport indirect tax audits as necessaryOtherAssist in various tax planning strategies including gathering relevant data, running scenarios, and presenting findings to managementSupport special projects as necessary (R&D Tax Credit study, purchase accounting, system integration etc.)Maintain SOX processes and complianceResearch emerging tax topics and assess impacts to GoToWork closely with Accounting, FP&A, Engineers, and other relevant business partnersWhat We're Looking ForBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance requiredCertified Public Accountant or similar designation preferred 3+ years of relevant experience (Public accounting experience preferred)Strong knowledge of US GAAP and tax accounting in accordance with ASC740Ability to build strong collaborative working relationships across the organizationStrong technology skills with a demonstrated ability to analyze and improve processesNetSuite or comparable ERP software experience preferredExperience researching emerging tax issues (CCH experience a plus)You’ll be working towards a shared goal with an open-minded and cohesive team greater than the sum of its parts. Your compensation will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. You will also be eligible for a variable pay component and benefits.
