We realize that new ideas can come from everywhere in the organization, and we know the next big idea could be yours! The Opportunity The Adobe Commerce Engineering team is looking for a Sr. Engineering Architect to work on a new era of Commerce at Adobe.In this role, you will get results for a large Product Engineering team and collaborate with other senior technical team members to conceptualize, design, and deliver innovative technology solutions.You will focus on designing the standards for systems based on industry best practices, including defining parameters that guide engineering teams to determine whether to improve existing, develop new, or purchase third-party systems; defining frameworks for DevSecOps, APIs, containerization, and technical debt management; and ensuring they are incorporated into application development practices.What you'll do Responsible for the design, research, and/or development of current or future products and technologiesGuide a diverse team of engineers to deliver high-quality releases on a continuous cycle using standard methodologies for Lean Agile development.Drive technology migration in cloud, event-based architecture, and out-of-process extensibility.Ensure high quality by following coding standard methodologies, code reviews, and provide mentorship to other architects and engineers.When we ask about architectural frameworks, you easily dig up your knowledge and standard methodologies; you are a savvy communicator and know how to interact with different partners in our organization.Ensure a strong emphasis on monitoring and metrics for analyzing health and usage of features.What you need to succeed Excellent communication skills with audiences including Senior Business Leaders and Senior Technical Leaders6+ years of practical experience in developing/designing complex solutionsExperience with major public cloud offerings and how to design solutions that are built around these technologies like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud PlatformAbility to research and learn new methodologies and technologies and bring knowledge to the teamAbility to present information to a wide variety of audiences, including senior managementMinimum 6-8 years of software design experienceStrong knowledge of Agile and DevOps culture, including experience with CI/CDExperience in transitioning legacy systems to cloud architectureAdvanced understanding of algorithms, data structures, and ability to understand and debug both new and existing solutionsProficient in working on Microservices design patterns8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience (Java, PHP, Python, Next.js, C/C++)Some people management experience is a plusOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $142,100 -- $292,700 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
