Job Summary We need a capable and amiable Sr. Software Engineer that loves learning new technology and using it to deliver sustainable business value. We need you to help drive powerful software platforms on private and public clouds enabling quicker software development cycles and delivering secure, highly available, and scalable solutions with minimal maintenance. This position demands deep understanding and proven performance. What you’ll do: Quickly understand existing codebases and contribute significant changes. Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain large-scale applications. Operate, monitor, and debug highly available distributed services in a production environment. Define and implement the Four Key Metrics for our projects. Work with NoSQL databases that can store billions of records (MongoDB). Work with queuing systems (Kafka, Azure Storage Queues, etc.). How you’ll get it done: Foundational understanding of the software creation process and standard methodologies. Proven coding skills in Java or Scala and understanding the JVM garbage collection, performance, and tuning. Affinity for big-data and real-time processing technologies. Exposure to Spark streaming capabilities. Strong understanding of quality assurance principles. Working with test layers from unit to E2E and performance testing. Real passion for learning, developing, and getting things to work. Fearlessness and curiosity when staring into the abyss of a repo you’ve never seen, but you now have to debug, update, validate, and deploy. Before Thursday. Work with a wide range of technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Cloud, Jenkins as well as in-house tooling for data collection and deployments. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $119,000 -- $232,700 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
