We are building and running a set of micro-services that would provide the flexibility, scalability, and reliability to meet Adobe's business needs in the next 5-10 years while continuously providing seamless service to our customers. We use agile software development methodologies and work in a genuine and collaborative environment where everybody can grow, learn, contribute, and be creative.We are looking for a dedicated, passionate engineer who is interested in building the next generation of blazingly fast, always-available services, web applications, and platform components to enable purchase and subscription management, handling all kinds of products, plans, promotions, and geographies. We need someone who can develop robust, secure, and scalable back-end web services and is not opposed to dabbling in front-end or full-stack development as well.Please note that this position can be junior or senior, depending on your experience and qualifications.What you'll Do Participate in all aspects of software development activities, including design, coding, code review, unit testing, integration testing, and bug fixing.Designing services that scale: proxies, caching, and asynchronous processing.Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure superb end-to-end user experience for our customers.Fast prototyping ideas and concepts and researching the latest industry trends.Perform code reviews where you exchange knowledge with team members for everyone to improve the quality of their contribution.Handle system design of multiple services on the platform. Resolve problems involving interactions among multiple services.What you need to succeed Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent majors.Open minded and a creative problem solver.Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.5+ years of experience as a software engineer doing server-side (RESTful services) development, including at least three years in Java.Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design/programming.Strong Programming and analytical skills. Good knowledge of Java programming language is required.Knowledge and experience of relational databases (ideally MySQL), NoSQL datastores, and data access patterns and strategies are required.Knowledgeable of secure, scalable, and highly available service development practices.Experience in web server technologies: HTTP servers, caching, proxies, and load balancers.Experience with the Spring framework is a huge plus.Experience with Agile Software Development techniques.Experience with AWS, New Relic, and Splunk is a huge plus.Experience with frond-side (UI) technologies like Javascript, HTML5, CSS3, and frameworks such as ReactJS is a bonus.Knowledge of coding in other major programming languages is a plus.Expertise in building large-scale, complex client/server solutions is a plus.Proven ability to develop robust, efficient, high-quality code.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems using appropriate tools and techniques.Experience with modern development practices in testing, version control, and Agile.Sense of urgency and ownership, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $119,000 -- $232,700 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
