As a mature, public company, Adobe has enjoyed 20%+ growth over the last several years, and there is an opportunity to unlock more with a payments strategy that enables local methods and that drives payment processing to “best in class!”The ChallengeAdobe is looking to bring greater focus to our global processing fees though contract re-negotiations, strategic partnerships, routing optimization and influencing payment method preference in checkout. As a foundation to resolve where Adobe should focus, a granular understanding of how payment fees change over time from country mix, payment method mix, scheme and acquiring bank fee changes and ancillary fees (e.g., Account Updater, Token usage, downgrade/penalty fees, etc.) is needed. This level of visibility will allow Adobe to proactively affect and identify if/how industry changes may impact Adobe. The challenge is to define and implement strategies that allow our business to scale efficiently with our business.Internally, you will partner with Finance and Product to inspire change from the insights you uncover from payments cost data. With many opportunities in front of Adobe, this role requires the ability to understand details and communicate “big picture” strategic thinking along with deep technical capabilities to prioritize high value opportunities.Ready to become a change agent at Adobe?ResponsibilitiesCreate monthly insights into where and why payment processing fees are changing by country, by acquirer and by payment method.Establish and evolve payment cost metrics that measure the most important underlying factors driving the average cost of an Adobe’s recurring transaction versus (customer not present) versus customer present transactions in checkout.Stay current on evolving industry trends to anticipate changes payment fees before they hit our expense line (e.g., scheme/interchange fee increase announcement, changes to Adobe’s processing and routing strategy).Identify strategies to drive cost savings with our acquiring bank partners, or through internal product changes. Strategies will be supported by your case that contemplates changes to the customer experience and Adobe’s payment approval rates.Partner with Payments Partnership leads to analyze the impact of changes within Adobe’s ecosystem, including contract renewals and/or RFIs or RFPs.Establish an operating rhythm surface billing errors that would result in Adobe to payment higher rates than what is defined in our contracts with each payment processor.RequirementsExperience and understand of ecommerce processing cost components (e.g., interchange fees, scheme fees, acquiring fees, gateway fees, down grade fees, etc.). Experience in the recurring billing industry and/or general ecommerce is desirable, but not required.Excellent analytical skills, including the use of business intelligence tools and MS Excel to build models and analyses of payment processing data.5+ years of payments experience (i.e., with a processor, merchant, acquiring or issuing bank, or one of the global networks).Ability to lead through influence in a highly matrixed organization; and to drive opportunities through collaborative consensus with Finance, Treasury and Product.Self-motivated with ability to operate with a high level of independence.Ability to clearly and simply communicate complex payment concepts in a way that is easy for others outside of our Payments department to understand.Ability to develop and run financial scenario using MS Excel that show “what if” scenarios that can affect the over cost of global payments.A bias toward quick actions based on facts while also maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and quality.Strong understanding of Microsoft applications, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word is required, and a candidate with working SQL experience preferred.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $114,000 -- $220,900 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
