Come and see why Fortune magazine consistently ranks The Trade Desk among the best small-medium-sized workplaces globally.Job Title: Data Scientist ILocation: 50 W San Fernando Ave, Suite 1800, San Jose, CA 95113*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from The Trade Desk, Inc. office in San Jose, CA.Job Duties: Design data modeling processes, create optimization algorithms and prediction modules to improve TTD's campaign execution strategies. Evaluate and compare different linear TV data sources for their combined use in TTD products. Design experimental designs and conduct a/b testing on various reach optimization models to inform product decision. Program in python and spark to deploy optimization model in production. Conduct statistical analysis to evaluate quality and stability of external data set for products use in the company. Build up prediction model on households TV viewing with various data signals available in the business. Prepare analysis report on optimization model performance with insights on inventory recommendation to internal and external clients. Build up data processing pipeline in spark to process TTD available data for prediction model application in real biding. Identify relationships in data regarding the consumer behavior of internet users and leverage those relationships to research better ways of predicting user behavior. Utilize outputs of competing models and algorithms to predict user behavior and determine the highest performing methods to ensure that measured performance differences are not due to random variation. Process large datasets ranging up to hundreds of terabytes in size to generate features signals for input to statistical models to predict consumer behavior. Develop new mathematical equations and formalisms that relate proprietary TTD and client data to client goals. Responsible for regular presentation regarding results of analyses and/or performance of statistical models and their relation to the business.Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Statistics, Mathematics, Information Engineering or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related role OR Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Statistics, Mathematics, Information Engineering or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with: SQL; and Database, including Oracle or Teradata. Must have two (2) years of experience with: Python; A/B Testing; Agile; Data Analyzing and Visualization; and statistics and probability methods to evaluate the performance of data-driven products and significance testing.Our Compensation and Benefits (for NY, CO, CA, and WA residents only)At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range.  The base salary range for this role is $183,310 - $220,800/yearIn accordance with NY, CO, CA, and WA law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role.  The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.  All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions.
