The Group is developing green H2 production plants strategically located to cover key areas of demand while developing a reliable and cost-effective large-scale transportation network.Plug Power has more than 3bn$ of cash on its balance sheet to build hydrogen generation projects globally and in Europe, and has one of the most ambitious roadmaps in the European hydrogen landscapePosition SummaryTitle: Manager, Project ControlsThe Project Controls Manager will develop the cost control, estimation, planning and reporting activities during tender and project execution phases on large scale hydrogen-based projects. The person on the position is responsible to setup the cost breakdown structure and work breakdown structure systems together with the Project Managers and Finance Controllers to always ensure monitoring and control of project expenditure and schedule. This position will work with Plug project team, engineering service providers, permitting agencies, contractors, suppliers, and internal Plug stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting during all phases of a project. He will support the Project Development Director to create and implement the project control processes and tools for efficient project control and execution.The role reports to Senior Director of Project Development in Europe.Core Duties and Responsibilities            HSEPlug HSE objectives are to achieve zero harm to people, environment and facilities during the execution of our duties.GeneralDevelop an understanding of Plug products and related hydrogen infrastructure system designs and functionality.Develop Plug Project Controls requirements, specifications and templates necessary to execute the project and to educate all contracted parties on the reporting formats.Prepare Project Controls Plan for the project.Review main project contracts to ensure that all project control requirements are met. Ensure that contractors payment milestones are aligned with Plug cash flow forecasts.Organize and maintain change management system, to guarantee that all variations to budget and schedule are properly documented, approved and incorporated in the revised cost and schedule forecasts.Provide expertise to assist in the development of project schedules and budgetary parameters and risk management.Collaborate with internal project teams as necessary; be proactive in alignment of efforts to achieve project timetables.Communicate regularly with internal project team members and end-customers in order to clarify project expectations and meet commitments.Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions.Cost ControlDevelop and manage the cost control system and related procedures.Develop and manage the project cost breakdown structure (CBS).Track all cost monitoring, estimates and final forecast in line with approved project budgets.Lead the cost estimate exercise during tender phase.Evaluate cost impact of all variations.Coach and guide the project cost control team that might consist of cost controllers and quantity surveyors.Planning and ReportingDevelop and manage the planning and reporting systems, and related procedures.Develop and manage the project work breakdown structure (WBS).Create the progress measurement system for projects.Manage all progress monitoring, tracking, estimates and forecast activities.Liaise with contractors to ensure that the planning and reporting system is consistent with Plug requirements.Monitor additional scopes to ensure that are properly captured in the schedule.Evaluate schedule impact of all variations.Lead and guide the planning team that might consist of project and site planners.Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports.Support the Project Manager with project dash boards and presentations for steering meeting reviews.Participate in key progress meetings.Provide expertise to assist in the development of project schedules and budgetary parameters and risk management.Coordinate the activities of all parties involved with hydrogen system deployments including industrial gas companies, permitting agencies, contractors, and all others as needed.Collaborate with internal project teams as necessary for hydrogen deployments; be proactive in alignment of efforts to achieve project timetables.Provide guidance and technical expertise on project sites as required; set expectations for suppliers and contractors in alignment with Plug Power standards.Manage project schedules, project risks, and resolve problems as necessary to deliver on end-customer expectations.Communicate regularly with internal project team members and end-customers in order to clarify project expectations and meet commitments.Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions.Perform all other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceBachelor or Master’s degree in engineering or other relevant field of study.PMP (Project Management Professional) or IPMA (International Project management Association) certification highly preferred.A minimum of ten (10) years working experience in large scale industrial project-based functions.The ideal candidate possesses a background in project controls or project management in the hydrogen, chemical industry or oil & gas sectors with full exposure to basic engineering/FEED, engineering, procurement, production, construction, installation and commissioning, with CAPEX above 300m EUR.Experience in any of the following spheres of activity is preferred and highly valued:Hydrogen and/or fuel cellsCryogenic IndustryHigh Pressure Systems (250 Bar and up)Gas processingOil and Gas, CNG, LNGLogistics/Material HandlingAbility to travel frequently in Europe. to customer sites for infrastructure project management activities;
