Service Manager, Operations Status: Exempt (salaried)Department: OperationsPosition SummaryThe SM Operation directs workflow to ensure that Service/Logistics and material processes are completed timely and with the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a thorough knowledge of Field Service best practices along with strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences and stakeholders. The SM Operations must be prepared to adapt to the changing needs of a fast-paced manufacturing environment while coaching others to achieve success. This position is expected to represent Plug Power with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity at all times.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesImplementation and control of operational processes of the siteMonitoring compliance with safety regulationsPlanning of equipment operationsSupervision of purchasing and control of the materials and resources availableGuarantee that all systems work without problems and are based on our quality standardsEstablish Operation KPIs and conduct quality assessments by evaluating numbers and factsProvide reports to managementMonitor daily operations and resolve potential problems as they ariseMaximize the efficiency of all business processesEstablish processes that meet our business goals and ensure complianceCoordinate with HR to ensure our hiring plans meet our business needsConsidering the needs of external and internal stakeholders and integrating them into new strategic plansRealize inventory cycle counts and align with Finance TeamEnsure needed stock levels of spare parts and spare units for all applications to prove availability of equipment in the fieldEstablish reliable response and shipment strategy guarantee overnight shipments within all of EuropeClose collaboration with Regional Service Managers and US Service Operation TeamPerform other related duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceEducation in the commercial or industrial areaAdditional studies in business administration, mechanical engineering or system engineering (desirable/essential)5+ years previous experience as a site manager, operations manager, project manager or in a similar role with personnel responsibilityExcellent knowledge of operations managementKnowledge of the safety regulationsExperience with predictive modelsExperience with databases and project management softwareAbility to interpret financial data and allocate budgetsVery good knowledge of English, German native speakerMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityExcellent follow-throughMust be driven and self-motivatedPlug Power, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
