Financial Reporting ManagerStatus: Exempt (salaried) Department: Finance/AccountingPosition SummaryThe Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for the preparation and distribution of periodic financial statements for internal and external review. This role is critical to ensure the timely and accurate publication of financial information on behalf of the Company as well as maintaining compliance with all internal and external regulations governing financial disclosures. The FRM maintains a close connectivity to the activities within the organization and provides expertise related to the financial reporting associated with business initiatives. It is also critical that the FRM take a leadership role to optimize processes and systems within the Finance/Accounting team to ensure that published financials are comprehensive and accurate. Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage the timing and preparation of all financial reporting activities on behalf of the organizationDrive continuous process improvement including streamlining processes, researching, developing and implementing best practices and benchmarking disclosuresEstablish and maintain clear communication within the team related to the financial reporting and general ledger structure to ensure clarity of understandingBuild and maintain highly effective cross-functional relationships with colleagues to ensure effective communication and value-added working relationshipsAssist in development and implementation of new procedures and systems to enhance the workflow of the departmentMaintain an effective internal control environment and make sure all control points are properly documented and in compliance with Sarbanes OxleyParticipate in an ERP system migration to SAP S/4HanaProvide training to new and existing staff as needed to support their ongoing developmentProvide coaching and development to staff members to enhance their professional acumen, promote their retention, and support positive team moraleManage and review the consolidation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP including analytics and other supporting documentation for internal and external reportingConsolidate and review monthly financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, shareholder’s equity and cash flowManage and review the preparation of 10-Q’s and 10-K’s in accordance with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulationsPartner with department leaders on monthly financial reporting and consolidationsPrepare detailed quarterly analysis to support external financial statements and help to provide clarity regarding movements in key balance sheet and non-operating income statement accounts, as well as cash flowManage and collaborate with internal stakeholder groups related to external disclosure of financial informationProvide support with coordinating the interim and annual activities of the Company’s external auditorsPrepare and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis requested by Executive management and department leaders as needed to support the businessIdentify and resolve accounting issues that impact the consolidated financial statementsManage the preparation and review of earnings release materialsRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA requiredSeven (7) or more years of related work experience; experience within a public company manufacturing operation is highly preferred Experience with “big four” accounting firm highly preferableUncompromising dedication to customer service excellenceDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailSuperior communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office softwareAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyAbility to role model high standards of professionalismExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
