Pay Rate:$62,700.00 - $94,050.00Project Engineer, HydrogenStatus: Exempt (salaried) Department: HydrogenPosition SummaryWe're currently searching for a distinguished project engineer to join our hydrogen infrastructure team. As an ideal candidate, you're a highly trained engineer with a proven history of project engineering that will support activities related to developing, installing, and commissioning Plug Power's H2 infrastructure.This position also provides expertise in system design, application support, development of drawings, commissioning documentation, and more. In addition, the H2 Project Engineer must be a skilled collaborator who can engage cross-functionally with various team members to align efforts and synergize work activities affecting H2 infrastructure. This position is critical to ensuring optimal H2 infrastructure systems deployment to our highly valued customers.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview designs, specifications, and plans submitted by consulting engineering firms. Maintains Standard Baseline Site drawing layouts and revises as necessaryInterface with Design Engineering for standardsInterface with Application Engineering/Sales for handoff of PO to engineering.Support Applications Team on Sale Process on answering technical questions during quoting processDetermine site specific Safety Review Requirements including PSSR and implement plan (Facility Siting Review, Plume Studies, Area Classification, etc. )Create required project commissioning checklists, modify it if needed, and ensure the commissioning checklist is completed. Provide technical input for commissioning plan development.Technical resource for supporting site permitting and installation of Plug Products. Work to thoroughly understand Plug Power's Hydrogen fueling system projects, including but not limited to: customer site requirements, usage parameters, troubleshooting history, design limitations, and optimal system performance targets. Collaborate with a team of designers to complete mechanical projects and provide engineering support keeping projects on time and on budget.Manage the engineering change control process for H2 infrastructure designs, documents, and Bills of Material (BOMs) as required. Build relationships and regular communications with cross-functional colleagues in field service, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality departments.Lead efforts to integrate components into H2 infrastructure design to ensure seamless communication and execution.Maintains a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulationsDrive requirements for the installation of Plug Power's hydrogen infrastructure.Works with Project Management, monitors project progress, supports engineering activities, and resolves problems with engineering support.Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions.Perform all other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceMinimum of a Bachelor’s degree, (Masters’ preferred) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.Minimum of five (5) years of project management, project engineering, design experience creating construction documents for industrial, power, oil & gas, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food & beverage facilities with significant expertise in more than one of the core industries served by our client.Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving PFD’s, P&ID’s, bill of materials, equipment, and piping specifications.Experienced working knowledge of piping codes - ASME B31.1, B31.3, PEDWorking knowledge of NFPA fire codes (NFPA 1, 2, 55, 56, 70, 497)Working knowledge of pressure drop calculations for incompressible and compressible fluidsReviewer and approver of equipment and piping specifications, pressure relief device sizing, pump, and other process equipment selectionsWorking knowledge of cryogenic processes is a plusAbility to travel as needed to domestic or internationally, to customer sites for infrastructure project work; approximately 10% to 20% of the timeComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, AutoCAD(required)Strong verbal and written communication skillsUncompromising dedication to qualityDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyWe offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
