Pay Rate:$62,700.00 - $94,050.00Certification and Compliance Engineer, ElectrolyzersStatus: Exempt (salaried)Department: EngineeringPosition SummaryThe Certification and Compliance Engineer will work within the core engineering team to manage and direct all industry qualification and compliance tasks. This will include obtaining UL, PED, and CE certifications on the electrolyzer stacks as well as additional country specific qualifications as required. The candidate should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar with demonstrated experience in working with 3rd party notified body vendors.  This individual will coordinate engineering functions to support external design analysis, product evaluation and internal manufacturing documentation. The Certification and Compliance Engineer will regularly meet with program team members to review program status and plan future actions. The ideal candidate should exhibit exceptional communication and project management skills along with a strong background in engineering. This individual must be self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments and is willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced engineering organization.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesWill develop a deep technical knowledge of Plug’s Electrolyzer stack platformWill be able to understand mechanical and material requirements and be the interface between Plug and external qualification vendors.Will have experience in material selection, vendor qualification and documentation requirements in the support of PED qualification.Will be able to coordinate and optimize multiple national qualification certifications across different markets and geographic regions.Will be the lead interface between the Stack Engineering and other engineering and design teams for all qualification and compliance issues.Will work to build out and lead a small core team to support all qualification and compliance functions for Electrolyzer Stacks.Coordinate with engineering management to set priorities and allocate resources to efficiently meet commitmentsRegularly meet with program team members to review program status and develop future action plans.Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement to establish and qualify new vendors, materials and methods.Independently anticipates potential schedule delays and initiate plans for alternative actions as needed; able to rearrange competing priorities to ensure all deadlines are metCross-functionally communicates between departments to ensure all parties involved are informed and up to date on project changes and delaysEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or a related field of studyDemonstrated experience in CAD, Creo preferred Demonstrated experience in creating working with notified bodiesExperience with UL, CE, and PED directives.Minimum of three (3) years program management experience in an engineering fieldExperience in managing 3rd party qualification vendorsAbility to travel as requiredComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookStrong verbal and written communication skillsExceptional organizational skillsDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholdersUncompromising dedication to qualityDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyAbility to role model high standards of professionalismExcellent follow-throughMust be driven and self-motivatedWe offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
