Pay Rate:$62,700.00 - $94,050.00Mechanical Designer Status: Exempt (Salaried)Department: ElectrolyzersPosition Summary:Status: Exempt (salaried)Department: Electrolyzers Summary:The Mechanical Designer is responsible for the system integration of mechanical and electrical components used in hydrogen generation systems. This Designer will create structured 3D-CAD assemblies, bills of materials, and part prints and documentation. This role requires close interaction with the other engineering team members to ensure active development and design efforts are coordinated. The role also requires close interaction with the supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure designs meet cross-functional requirements. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments and willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced engineering organization.Core Duties and Responsibilities:Use PTC Creo to create accurate, complete, and concise engineering documentation including large system assembly models, individual part drawings, and bills of materials.Build and maintain knowledge regarding Plug Power technology including current design specifications and constraintsModify system and component designs with a focus on manufacturability, serviceability, product quality, and adherence to codes and standardsWork within a multidiscipline engineering team to define requirements for a wide variety of mechanical and electromechanical componentsPerform engineering analysis to define critical design parameters and develop test plans as necessary to optimize designsCoordinate design changes with multidisciplinary engineering teamsLead design changes through the enterprise change processRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner in all interactions; support the philosophy of the organization to provide high-performing technology to maximize customer satisfactionEducation and Experience:Associates degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline such as mechanical engineering.Three (3) or more years of related work experience preferably within an industrial product manufacturing environmentTwo (2) or more years of experience with CREO Experience with Windchill PLM is highly preferred Experience with tolerance analysisWorking knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principlesExperience with large industrial process gas equipment is preferredAbility to clearly communicate goals, findings and issuesProficiency with the creation of manufacturing plans and drawings desiredWorking knowledge of piping layout, design and routingSupreme organizational abilities and attention to detailMust be flexible to adapt to changes in requirements, priorities and schedulesExempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.  This may require they work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week.  We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
