Pay Rate:$75,240.00 - $112,860.00Sr Project EngineerStatus: Exempt (salaried)                                                                  Department: EngineeringPosition SummaryThe Project Engineer plays a vital role in the development and refinement of manufacturing processes/products, material flow, and standard operating procedures.  All efforts and initiatives within this role are aligned to increase the output capability of the manufacturing facility, reduce manufacturing cost, and yield the highest levels of product quality to exceed Customer expectations. This will be accomplished through researching leading edge processes, identifying best practices, and championing cross-functional project teams from concept to implementation. The ideal candidate should exhibit both exceptional communication and project management skills along with a technical background. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments and willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced engineering organization.Principle AccountabilitiesDevelops and maintains a detailed understanding of Plug Power products / processes and related manufacturing objectives and constraints.Ensure new manufacturing processes and equipment availability meet production capacity requirements and operate at optimum efficiency.Drive and monitor large scale continuous process improvement initiatives, measured by KPI’s including quality, capacity, and cost reduction.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops and improves manufacturing processes and material flow by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; soliciting feedback from the production team; and conferring with equipment vendors.Defines equipment specifications and acceptance testing requirements optimizing design for manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability.Establishes project management plan to ensure critical milestones are achieved and leads countermeasures when applicable to maintain on time project completion.In coordination with vendor, operations, and quality team develop standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guide, predictive maintenance plan, preventative maintenance plan, and critical spare parts list.Participates in the development of Process Flow Diagrams, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis, and Process Control Plans.Create / modify Bill of Material structures as appropriate within ERP system for accurate job routing and material consumption estimates.Leads the engineering change process and all relevant communication/documentationActs as a champion and driver for Lean/Six Sigma best practices while applying teachings and methodologies during the course of project workPerforms all other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience Bachelor degree; Masters degree a plusMinimum 5 years of overall engineering experienceFamiliarity with industrial standards. (ISO, IATF, APQP)PMP Certification a plusUnderstanding of high-volume manufacturing best practices.  Automotive manufacturing experience beneficial.Demonstrated ability with cost analysis and capital project justificationsAbility to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environmentDemonstrated aptitude for systems thinking and creative problem solvingAbility to work effectively in both a self-directed and team environmentAbility to manage large development projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlinesStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skillsMust be proficient in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project)Must be highly driven and motivated to achieve goalsWe offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
