The Intern will be responsible for assisting the Electrolyzer Department in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department’s projects. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.Project Summary The Process Engineer shall work with a multi-discipline engineering team to develop a process equipment database and estimation tool for determining and validating capital cost of process equipment packages. The process equipment packages include, but are not limited to, ultrapure water treatment, hydrogen purification, cooling system, and vent system, all of which are essential for hydrogen generation plants. Specific responsibilities include the development and organization of data comprising the database, as well as flexibility of the tool to account for various process capacities and configurations. Lastly, the Process Engineer will be expected to integrate the developed tool into existing in-house estimation tools targeting other cost categories.For those with prior experience with process modeling software, the Process Engineer shall work with a multi-discipline engineering team on a project that will determine the optimal Electrolyzer stack and system operating parameters ensuring that Plug’s innovative Electrolyzer designs are optimized and thoroughly vetted to become a product for release.
