Pay Rate:$20.07 - $26.90Quality TechnicianStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly)                                                            Department: OperationsQuality Technician - For Tier 1 supplier/manufacturer of hydrogen fuel cells, hydrogen dispensing units, and hydrogen storage, compression, and flow systems. Plug Power is seeking a growth candidate with experience as a quality inspector in an automotive, aerospace, or otherwise like manufacturing environment.Job Description:Inspects manufactured products, purchased samples, materials and parts, control samples, processes, or test data for conformity to blueprints, specifications, and standards.Inspects a variety of units using measuring/inspection instruments (e.g., micrometers, gauges, and calipers) with proper inspection techniques.Make decisions regarding product acceptance per product documentation and company workmanship criteria.Document inspection activities on appropriate inspection records.Maintain inspection records in an organized manner.Document product discrepancies per company procedures.Reads, interprets, and utilizes Quality policies, procedures, blueprints, and other documentation.Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.Completes First Article Inspection (FAI) and forms to ensure compliance with requirements.Capable of supporting multiple product lines and/or commodities.Answer quality & inspection questions.Acquire applicable skill/knowledge/certifications and complete trainings as required.Ability to prioritize numerous tasks to meet schedule needsPlan and perform internal process audits.Support the preparation of operational procedures and instructions in accordance with ISO 9001, 2015/IATF 16949 requirements.Assist with generating and submitting Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages per AIAG guidelinesPerform dimensional inspections, capability studies, Gauge R&R studies, and audits as needed to support quality concerns, APQP and PPAP.Participate in corrective action teams to identify the root cause of a problem and implement effective corrective actions.Lead and participate in quality improvement projects for products and processes.Facilitate training related to quality and develop training material as required.Contributes to a safe, clean, and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.Support resolution of external Audit resultsSupport continuous improvement activities for safety, quality, and productivity.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a quality Technician.Knowledge of blueprint reading/Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)Capable of performing gage studies.Basic AIAG and related quality system knowledge of ISO 9001, 2015/IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 strongly desiredAble to maintain confidentiality on products, services, and processes.Familiarity with AS9102, First Article Inspection & Final Inspection processes Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionAccuracy and attention to detail is highly importantExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalEffective problem-solving skills and decision-making skillsComputer skills, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, OutlookAbility to conduct effective training sessionsSafety Employee Responsibilities:Complying with Company and legal requirements, following safe work practices, and contributing to a positive health and safety culture.Identifying, communicating, and correcting hazards within their ability and authority to protect themselves, co-workers, or other persons at our facilities.Taking positive steps to achieve a state of health consistent with the demands of his/her occupation.                                                                 We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
