IT Support Technician Department: Information TechnologySummary:The IT Support Technician serves a critical role to Plug Power by working to triage IT help ticket items for employees and maintain optimal functionality of IT systems internally. The IT Support Technician must approach the role with a customer service focus and a desire to support internal customers with IT needs. This role regularly interfaces with employees and helps to maintain and improve the reputation for the IT department. As such, technical knowledge, responsiveness, and interpersonal skills are each critical elements of success in this position.Core Duties and Responsibilities:Provide assistance to employees with issues arising from everyday computer use, including hardware and software troubleshootingConfigure hardware and systems for new hires and existing employees in need of upgrades/changes.Work to isolate and remove viruses from systems and hardware as neededProvide information and guidance to employees on effective use of computers, phone systems, and other relevant IT applicationsRespond to help tickets submitted in a timely manner with a customer service focusCreate and modify active directory user and group accounts and MS365 e-mail groupsDevelop cross-functional partnerships with team members such as HR; work collaboratively to respond to relevant back office support needsPerform Windows imaging and software installation for various PC types, as well as, perform desk setup with desktops, laptops, docking stations, and phonesProvide assistance with IT asset trackingContribute to KBAs relevant to Global HelpDesk processes and procedures.Assist with cabling setup in offices and cubicles as needed including Ethernet, telephone, and otherRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and Experience:High school diploma required; college degree preferredTwo (2) or more years of related work experience; internship/co-op experience may be considered in lieu of work experience Proficient with Office 365, Active Directory and VPN technologiesMust be capable of working independently, in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervisionMust possess a customer service approach to workDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailSuperior communication skillsAbility to manage projects and multi-task effectivelyAbility/desire to work extended hours when necessaryExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedPlug Power Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
