Project Finance Manager Status: Exempt (salaried)                                                                 Department: Finance/AccountingPosition SummaryPlug Power (NASDAQ PLUG) is leading the green energy revolution and continues to expand rapidly in Europe. The Project Finance Manager position plays a key role in shaping major business initiatives pertaining to the structuring and financing of liquid hydrogen plants. This role will be a financial advisor during the planning, structuring and development by managing project contracts, developing financial models, gathering project accounting requirements to plan, forecast, and budget. The ideal candidate must have a combination of project financing skills, financial planning and analysis and be comfortable communicating with internal and external partners at all levels to help drive strategic planning and decision-making. The Project Finance Manager plays an important role in securing project controls and deliverables to ensure that measurable benefits are realized.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops and maintains a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s customer solutions and related contractual structuresAnalyzes contractual relationships with vendors, providing recommendations on deal structuring improvements to be considered, and facilitating effective evaluationsDevelops financial models and plans for banks and financial institutionsEstablish appropriate internal controls and project governanceBuilds and maintains highly effective cross-functional relationships to ensure effective communication and value-added working relationshipsMonitor and control project scope, schedule, budget and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholdersEnsure proactive risk/opportunities assessment/managementLends expertise and support to business development activities by analyzing current financial data and modeling forward-looking financial metrics; provides strategic recommendations based upon this financial due diligence processPrepares and provides ad hoc reporting analysis requested by executive management and department leaders as needed to support the businessRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceBS degree in Accounting/Finance; MBA and/or relevant certification (CPA, CFA, CMA) is highly preferredEight (8) or more years of related work experience, preferably within the energy industryExperience in commercial finance within a publicly traded company is vastly preferred  Proven track record of helping to drive strategic direction through financial analysisDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to translate complex financial metrics to diverse audiences and stakeholdersSuperior communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office softwareAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyAbility to role model high standards of professionalismExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
