Senior Electrical Engineer-TransportationStatus: Exempt (salaried)Department: EngineeringPosition SummaryThe Senior Electrical Engineer plays a vital role on our engineering team and is responsible for the analysis and design of the electrical architecture and components for fuel cell transportation applications.  The Senior Electrical Engineer will develop new designs and adapt existing designs to achieve performance, cost, and reliability targets.  The ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of high and low voltage electrical system and component design as applied to hardened industrial and vehicle systems.  This role also requires close interaction with supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure designs meet cross functional requirements. The ideal candidate should also be creative, self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments and willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced engineering organization.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical power system architectures, components, and interconnects. Analyze customer requirements and translate into electrical system and component requirements.Generate electrical component specifications and system schematics.Generate test plans, analyze, and test power electronics and systems.        Perform system troubleshooting and author incident reports.Effectively incorporate field data from customers as well as manufacturing constraints within design work efforts; focus upon design elements that improve the end-user experience and increase manufacturability.Manage project assignments with a focus on delivering high caliber results in a timely fashion.Maintain an understanding of high priority engineering projects; be prepared to contribute as needed to priority projects.Build effective internal relationships with colleagues; work both inter-departmentally and cross-functionally as needed for project assignments.Seek opportunities to grow knowledge of Company products while also furthering engineering knowledge through internal collaboration.Represent Plug Power in a professional manner in all interactions; support the philosophy of the organization to provide high-performing technology to maximize customer satisfaction.Perform other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced degree preferred.Seven (7) + years of related work experience preferably within a technology product manufacturing environment. Experience developing system level architectures and working knowledge of electrical power systems required. Demonstrated aptitude in designing, building, and testing electronic subsystems.Experience in digital and analog circuit design, analysis, and diagnostics.Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.Experience with energy storage solutions and technologies preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.Teamwork oriented and focused.Superior communication skills.Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.Excellent follow-through.Must be driven and self-motivated.Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality.Pay Rate:$75,240.00 - $112,860.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
