Operations Quality Manager Status: Exempt (salaried)                                                                 Position SummaryThis position reports to the Director of Project Operations and is responsible for the Quality Management System at Plug Process Systems. The Operations Quality Manager plays a vital role in the development, refinement, implementation and execution of the system and tools to assure quality assurance and quality control for Plug Process Systems. The Operations Quality Manager will be responsible to update and transition the Joule Processing Quality Management System Manual to the Plug Process Systems Quality Management System Manual and align all process, procedures, testing protocols, document & control procedures.  This position is responsible for supporting the quality control program and specifically addressing and resolving issues compromising operating standards within all internal and external resources of the Company. Constantly monitor activities of fabricators for compliance, non-conformance and possible schedule delays and report all findings to the Director of Project Operations.  The Operations Quality Manager will coordinate closely with the Production Manager and Supply Chain Manager to collect & analyze data, develop & maintain quality metrics, and drive root cause analysis of product and process defects, developing containment, corrective, and preventative actions.  The ideal candidate for this position will possess a thorough knowledge of quality management systems, strong leadership skills, and a demonstrated track record of success in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Oversee the Quality Assurance and Quality Control of multiple major equipment product lines within the Liquefaction Units supported by an AVL of over 40 diverse suppliers including engineered equipment fabricators; instrumentation and controls; OEMs; engineering services; field services; specialty fabrication, assembly, and testing support; etc. Expect fast paced high-volume production in excess of $300MM annually.Principle AccountabilitiesUpdate of the Quality Management System ManualIntegration of Plug Process Systems Quality Management System with the Plug energy solutions QMS and QMS Manual.Development and maintenance of quality metrics dashboard (KPI’s)Maintenance of the QMS Manual and all QMS documents, processes and proceduresCore Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead the effort to transition the Joule Process Quality Management System to the Plug Process Systems Quality Management System to be in line with the overall Plug Power Quality Management system.Lead Plug Process Systems in implementing quality assurance and quality control systemDevelop, maintain, and communicate quality performance metrics (KPI’s)Manage quality manual and document control processSupports the development of a manufacturing process plan, including the determination of personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.Supports activities and collaborates with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to ensure adherence to required quality standards and specifications.Reviews and interprets plans, specifications and other documents to assist with identification of any flaws with project design, schedule and/or budget.Reviews production and operating reports on a regular basis in order to identify problem areas and direct the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.Manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FATs) procedures, documents, criteria, protocols, and data collection processSupport corporate quality system compliance, certification initiatives and audit processesWork closely with the Production Manager and Engineering to develop, implement and execute project / program / product test plansDrive quality initiatives to advance our implementation of continuous improvement principles and establish these efforts as part of our cultureLead root cause investigations to drive corrective and preventative actionsWork with the production team to ensure thorough and timely dispositions of non-conforming material to maintain continuity of production and containment of problems before they reach the customer.Develops and maintains a detailed understanding of Plug Power products and related manufacturing objectives and constraints.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Collaborates within other Quality functions, develops relationships with other supporting functions and departments. Strong team player. Builds relationships long term. Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions.Perform all other duties as assigned.Exempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.  This may require they work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week.QUALIFICATIONSEducation and ExperienceAt least ten (10) years of related quality work experience with manufacturing; preferably modular high-tech engineering, procurement and fabrication.Experience with the development and implementation of a Quality Management System (QMS) for an engineering, procurement and fabrication organization.Experience with Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQPs) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) for engineering fabricated equipment.ISO9001 Quality Systems implementation & complianceNonconformance and Corrective Action Root Cause analysis. Experience with lean Manufacturing; Six Sigma green belt/black belt preferredProven track record of helping to drive manufacturing quality improvement projectsDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to translate complex methodologies to diverse audiences and stakeholdersUncompromising dedication to product qualityDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailProficient with Microsoft Office softwareAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyAbility to role model high standards of professionalismExcellent follow-through Ability to work in structured and unstructured systems environmentsBe able to deliver strong resultsMust be driven and self-motivatedPay Rate:$86,815.00 - $138,904.00
