Sr Manager, Financial & SEC Reporting – Houston, TXStatus: Exempt (Salaried)Department: Finance/AccountingLocation: This is a hybrid position, which will be onsite at least three days a week, and will include traveling to multiple facilities in the Houston, TX regionPosition SummaryThis role will lead for financial reporting for Plug’s Houston operations, in collaboration with corporate finance team. The ideal candidate will be versed in accounting, financial reporting and internal controls, with a focus on the review and preparation of quarterly and annual SEC financial reporting to include Forms 10-K and 10-Q.The position is critical to the success of the organization in establishing and maintaining an effective internal control environment compliant with the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX).  The position will be tasked with maintaining a sound financial reporting control structure through the development of systems and procedures, supporting technical accounting conclusions, and performance of analytics.    The ideal candidate will be someone who is comfortable shifting priorities and lending finance expertise within diverse work assignments as needed.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with SOX, SEC and other local standards and requirements.Work collaboratively with the financial reporting team to prepare/review the external financial statements, footnotes and MD&A for SEC reports including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, in compliance with GAAP and SEC rules and regulations. Ensure accurate and timely filing of all required SEC financial statements and other SEC filings. Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and company policies.Coordinate with external auditors and serve as a key contact in the annual audit process.Manage supporting documentation(s) from various parts of the company to ensure accurate and timely reportingCollaborate with departments and managers regarding the reporting processes and information required for proper and timely disclosuresMaintain an awareness of company products, services and the related regulatory environment to effectively manage and comply with all regulatory reporting requirements and disclosuresMaintain an in-depth understanding and analysis of significant transactions to assess their impact for SEC disclosure purposes. Work cross-functionally with other groups to foresee potential accounting issues and recommend practical solutions associated with business transactions.Assist in the preparation and review of accounting policies and procedures.Participate in discussions with business teams to assess the accounting treatment of new, emerging, or changing business activities in the US and internationally.Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and Experience Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, and the following minimum relevant experience for each level:Manager: 5+ yearsSr Manager: 7+ yearsBig 4 public accounting and manufacturing experience preferredSEC reporting experience with a publicly traded companyStrong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC accounting and reporting requirementsThorough understanding of the SEC Reporting process and timelineAdvanced Excel skillsDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to translate complex financial metrics to diverse audiences and stakeholdersUncompromising dedication to customer service excellenceDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailSuperior communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office softwareAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyAbility to role model high standards of professionalismExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityExempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.  This may require they work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week.  Pay Rate:$86,815.00 - $138,904.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
