Senior Electrical TechnicianStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly) Department: NextGen Solutions Position SummaryThe Senior Electrical Technician is responsible for the build, modification, troubleshooting, test, and repair of the electrical components for fuel cell systems and fuel cell powered equipment. Excellent electrical and mechanical aptitude as well as strong teamwork skills are expected. This role requires close interaction with Plug engineering and manufacturing teams as well as external partners to ensure any issues get communicated and resolved in a timely manner. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment performing testing and troubleshooting on a variety of equipment. This position will play an essential role within the NextGen Solutions team exploring new applications for fuel cells and supporting customer/partner pilot programs.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesFabrication of wiring harnesses and electrical subsystems for prototype systems and system integration into fuel cell powered equipment.Perform electrical/electronic component, subsystem and system level testing, troubleshooting, and repairs as needed.Assist in the creation of electrical schematics and bills of materials.Participate in safety reviews as required to verify prototypes and systems meet Plug Power safety standards.Interact with engineering for product interface requirements.Travel to customer/partner sites.Perform other related duties as assigned.Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrical technician or similar role.Associates degree in a technical field or military certification is preferred.Qualified to work on high voltage systems per NFPA 70E (or equivalent) training.Excellent verbal communication skills – must interact regularly with groups such as manufacturing, and engineering, directly and via electronic communication methods.Ability to fabricate electrical harnesses, cables and devices per wire schematics.Ability to debug and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.Ability to debug and troubleshoot CAN networks.Must be driven and self-motivated.Experience with battery and power systems.Pay Rate:$25.94 - $37.41We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
