Director of Engineering – NextGen SolutionsStatus: Exempt (salaried)                                                                 Department: NextGen Solutions                                                           Position SummaryThe Director of Engineering is responsible for providing technical and organizational leadership to a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and designers.  The team managed by the Director of Engineering designs, tests and supports next generation solutions to meet the future needs of our customers across new and existing market segments.  The position reports to the Vice President of NextGen Solutions. The ideal candidate for this role must have a firm technical grasp on Plug Power products and technical requirements while also possessing a robust leadership skill set to drive staff member career development and the achievement of strategic projects. Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages all engineers and designers for the NextGen Solutions team.Works with the program team to develop tactical plans and direct resources in the engineering department to meet project goals.Communicate with customers and our sales team to seek new solutions to enhance our product offering and increase hydrogen adoption.Maintain expert level technical knowledge of capability and constraints of Plug solutions.Provides technical guidance for system or component modifications to meet the needs of the new hydrogen solution.Organizes staff to generate technical specifications, data and information required.Directs and oversees procedures, investigations, implementation and commissioning efforts to support customer programs.Maintain a safety conscience environment by setting the example and instilling a safety mindset through awareness and education of direct reports, external partners, and customers.Interface with key business partners for new and existing Plug products.Work with Product Management to help establish future product and technology roadmaps.Stay aligned with Engineering in new product development, providing input that enhances customer experiences and broadens the potential applications and markets for hydrogen.Ensures all projects, initiatives, and procedures are in line with organization's established policies and objectives. Perform all other duties as assigned.Ability to travel up to 30%Education and ExperienceBS in engineering or other relevant engineering field of study.15+ years of related work history; experience with integrating technical solutions in the field for customer stakeholders.Strong managerial and interpersonal skills.Must be extremely detail orientated.Demonstrated aptitude for systems thinking and creative problem solving.Experience with fuel cell and hydrogen systems designs.Exceptional communication and presentation skills.Proven ability to successfully develop technical solutions in a variety of environments while taking into account a multitude of constraints.Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Strong verbal and written communication skills.Uncompromising dedication to quality.Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.Excellent follow-through. Must be driven and self-motivated.Teamwork oriented and focused.Pay Rate:$106,849.00 - $170,958.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
