PLM Business Administrator Status: Exempt (salaried)                                                                 Department: Engineering Location: this position can be done remotely but requires occasional office time in our Latham, NY facility or other business site Position SummaryThe PLM Business Administrator will contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designers, and support personnel dedicated to Plug’s mission of changing the way the world moves.  Plug is maturing in a part centric environment and this role will be critical in identifying gaps and best practices, while helping set guidance for future activities.  In this role you will help to ensure we are fully leveraging our Windchill investment through improved processes and ensuring users across the enterprise are properly trained and following best practices.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreation of new user accounts and new manufacturers or vendors.Provide day-to-day support to individual Windchill users using a high degree of independent discretion and judgment in analyzing and determining the probable cause of unexpected problems.Provide advanced guidance to individuals regarding Windchill best practices and suggested techniques, as well as learning the needs of the user community and business to create needed documentation.Creation and editing of workflows such as promotion requests, deviation, ECR’s, etc.Develop and perform end user training while serving as a mentor for the Windchill community.Perform Quality Assurance testing to support application change with respect to updates, upgrades, migrations, and optimal user efficiency.Provide Windchill usage metrics to maximize our license investment, provide business insights, usage trends and reporting to management as required.Work with the CAD Administrator and Engineering Change Manager to ensure the proper use of CAD data storage, file management and associated workflows.Interface with service partners and Plug’s IT team to address escalated issues, complex problems, and evolving licensing needs.Identify business needs and propose solutions to meet them. This includes recommending productivity enhancing applications that could increase Plug Power’s efficiency in delivering industry leading products.Perform other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, knowledge, and prior relevant experience.Two years of experience in PLM business administration.Broad, in-depth knowledge and experience with PLM systems (Windchill required) and the following functionalities: CAD Data Management, Change/Configuration Management, Bills of Material, Workflows, and Visualizations.Experience with Windchill ProjectLink, MPMLink, Service BOM’s preferred.Experience with Windchill Digital Twin/Thread capabilities, ThingWorx Navigate and CAD Visualization Publishing desired.Experience with 3rd party integrations desired.
