Chief Technology Officer [Head of Technology] - HyVerse (PlugSK JV)Status: Exempt (salaried) Department: Executive Position SummaryWe are seeking a seasoned leader with a background in creating value through strong technology and managerial leadership. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the fuel cell, electrolyzer, Electric vehicles, Data Center Infrastructure or related application industry, and strong technical experience. This role will be responsible for technology and product development strategy at Hyverse. You will be instrumental in establishing the culture and passion for technology leadership in the Asian market. As an organizational leader you will play a significant role to define and set-up the R&D, systems/product engineering, and project engineering functions. You will be a prominent face to Hyverse customers, industry organizations, and government agencies to represent Hyverse capabilities and solutions.As a key member of the executive staff, the CTO works with the leadership team to develop technology roadmaps, design solutions, and implement processes that make technology development a significant differentiator for Hyverse. The CTO leads and manages a collaborative working relationship with the Plug Power R&D organizations. In addition, this executive will collaborate with industry leaders and assess customer needs to ensure that the organization proactively anticipates, supports, and solves technical problems in support of customer issues. In addition, the position will identify potential partner opportunities that will drive the technology roadmaps as well as position Hyverse to remain technically and commercially competitive.The successful candidate must have the presence and presentation skills to represent Hyverse in front of customers and prospects, investors/BOD, industry groups, press, and analysts. You must also have the industry knowledge and experience to establish and communicate a long-term technological vision for Hyverse and inspire confidence within Hyverse and among our customers and partners. This is a unique opportunity to shape and transform the market for green energy through technical solutions.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for outlining the company's technological vision, implementing technology strategies, and ensuring that the technological resources are aligned with the company's business needsDevelops long-term technology roadmap for Hyverse and ensures key long-term technology capabilities are in placeCollaborates with Engineering and General Managers to build key technology capabilities.Together with executive leadership, develop and implement the short and long-term Technology roadmapsCollaborate with executive peers in the corporate strategy process and ensure alignment with all product strategy plans and create a unified, longer-term technology growth plan.Study the technology associated with our markets and the competitive landscape.Understand, at a deep level, product technical differentiations as compared to needs, trends and competition.Articulate medium and long-term technological strategy to the market.Introduce innovative technologies and solutions to solve key customer and market problems based on deep understanding of the business and market context.Lead the industry incorporating and deploying leading edge technology solutions for addressing customer needs.Drive effective communications throughout the organization, work collaboratively with the marketing, sales, development, support, and implementation teams.Own, manage, and grow the Hyverse IP portfolioEffectively shape Hyverse’s technology profile and provide internal/external communication of portfolioOutline the goals for research and development, with Engineering.Track technology trends and KPIs for solutions within the applications that Hyverse serves and other applications where there may be adjacent technologies.Leverage Hyverse’s supply chain to enhance available technology and identify global technology partners.Engage with customers and key technology prospects to share our vision and understand their needs and capabilities.Introduce innovative technologies and solutions to solve key customer and market problems based on deep understanding of the business and market context.Identify and cultivate relationships with universities that have specialized knowledge that is associated with our known and needed technologies.Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required; a Master’s Degree in Business or Engineering is preferred.10+ years of relevant experience in an innovative, technical environment.Demonstrate aptitude for systems thinking and creative problem solvingTechnically astute with experience defining product specifications with customer needsExperience as a senior leader with a global technical and manufacturing company is highly desirable.Executive presence, excellent communication, and presentation skills.Strong desire to join a growth-oriented technology company and to operate in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to drive a strategic planning process as well as manage large complex projects.Cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills, with the ability to make critical decisions and influence others.Creative problem-solver, with ability to work independently and drive for results.Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
