Director, Centers of ExcellenceStatus: Exempt (Salaried)Department: Engineering Position SummaryPlug Power is the worldwide leader of energy transition to green hydrogen.  To fulfill our vision, we are seeking a Center of Excellence (COE) Director to establish world-class support to our engineering projects in the areas of analysis, test, and configuration management.The COE Director will report to the Vice President of Engineering.  In this role, he/she will support the design and development of fuel cell and electrolyzer products. He/she will work with the analysis, test and configuration management leaders to set the overall strategy for the support functions across the business.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDrive synergy between test and analysis to drive cost out of the development processCollaborate with Engineering leaders to reduce rework by proactively managing engineering BOMs.  This will require timely evaluation, and resolution of problem reports, and ECNsDevelop standardized processes to support AS9100 certificationPrioritize, schedule and manage the work of the teamKeep abreast of latest tools and equipment to support analysis and test.Manage engineering software needs and costsReview and propose test facility capex plans, and evaluate new softwareMonitor team dynamics and hold team accountable by swiftly and directly addressing issuesDevelop, update and facilitate training on standard processes for new hires as well as refreshers for current team members.Own the success of his/her team by actively investing in their developmentAdhere to safety, health, and environmental proceduresSkillsProficiency and track record of successfully leading teamsExcellent oral and written communication skillsDetail-oriented and highly organizedAbility to set and maintain a department budgetAbility to drive team to finish tasks in a timely manner.Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering with 10 + years of experience leading teamsExperience in test, analysis and/or configuration management positions desiredFamiliarity with AS9100 certification a plusExempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.  This may require they work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week.  Pay Rate:$106,849.00 - $170,958.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
