Senior CAD SpecialistStatus: Exempt (Salaried)Department: Project Development (Energy Solutions)Position SummaryJoin Plug Power’s Project Development team to help build the first generation of commercial-scale green hydrogen production plants in North America and kickoff the next major step in decarbonization of the transportation and industrial sectors.In this role you will support engineers and developers in the early-stage design and conceptualization of green hydrogen projects. You will be responsible for producing 2D and 3D drawings and models showing conceptual or early-stage site layouts to support public outreach, permitting activities, and project definition for conceptual engineering. You will also support Plug’s equipment and marketing teams by producing technical layouts, models and renderings of Plug equipment and projects. In addition, you will assist with the editing of various technical drawings related to plant design such as electrical single lien drawings, P&ID drawings, and process flow diagrams. You will work closely with our Project Execution team to manage technical documents and pass down designs during the conceptual engineering phase. You will help define and manage CAD tool needs and tool flows for the production of 2D and 3D documents.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport the Project Development team to perform a variety of drafting and design assignments in connection with process, electrical and mechanical layout drawings.Collaborate with Project Engineering to generate novel concepts for optimal layout and design of large green hydrogen projects.Create 3D models and renderings of plants and equipment from early conceptual phase through construction of a project.Develop and maintain a CAD database in compliance with the company’s established standards and styles.Manage CAD tools and tool flows needed.Exempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.  This may require them to work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week.Education and ExperienceAssociates degree or higher in a relevant field or equivalent level of industry experience.Ten years of relevant work experience with an industrial or construction background.Strong AutoCAD and Navisworks skills.Working knowledge of large-scale industrial construction projects.Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.Occasional ability to travel to job sites for field work, surveying, and supportCompetency in modeling and rendering 3D visual representations of project layouts.Ability to comprehend civil/structural contract drawingsCapable of recognizing discrepancies with strong attention to detailDesign or construction experience is an advantagePay Rate:$75,240.00 - $112,860.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
