Payroll Associate Status: Non-exempt (Hourly)                                                                       Department: Finance/AccountingPosition SummaryThe Payroll Associate is a critical member of the payroll team within the Financial Shared Services function. This individual will provide support in all areas of processing payroll and will interface on a regular basis with other departments including but not limited to Human Resources and Finance. The ideal candidate should exhibit exceptional customer service skills, a positive attitude, and a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate should exhibit a service-oriented approach, have abilities to process a high volume of transactional responsibilities, and take pride in the accuracy and thoroughness of their work. The Payroll Associate will also be expected to interact professionally in all interactions.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform all transactional functions to process payroll via Workday on a weekly basis for employees in multiple states with the utmost focus on timeliness and processing accuracy, including stock related compensationEnsure accuracy of payroll data, including employee information, wages, and deductions including the appropriate processing of liens, garnishments, and other payroll-related transactionsRespond to employee inquiries related to payroll always representing Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactionsBuild and maintain effective cross-functional relationships within the organizationEngage with cross-functional partners proactively in completion of job responsibilitiesCommunicate payroll-related updates to the organization in a clear and effective mannerApproach all work activities with a customer service focus being mindful of payroll as a service department in support of the organizationAchieve and maintain a thorough understanding of company payroll processing software (Workday) and related functionalityEvaluate work processes on an ongoing basis; seek efficiencies and make appropriate suggestions for process improvementExhibit care, solid judgment and discretion with the sensitive nature of payroll and personal data.Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processingAssist with special projects and ad-hoc reporting as neededPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceHigh school or equivalent required; associates or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or human resources preferredAt least one year of experience in payroll processingWorkday experience is a plusKnowledge of federal and state payroll laws and regulationsApproach all work activities with a customer service focusComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel (VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, SUMIFS), and OutlookDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail and accuracyStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive informationUncompromising dedication to qualityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyExcellent follow-throughMust be driven and self-motivatedPay Rate:$25.94 - $37.41We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
