Sr. Product Development Manager, System SolutionsStatus: Exempt (salaried)                                                                  Department: ElectrolyzersPosition SummaryThe Product Development Manager is responsible for organizing and spearheading several electrolyzer system development projects in parallel for the System Solutions team. Projects may vary from single enclosure design/manufacturing to industrial scale plant deployments. The role resides in the engineering organization and plays a key role in managing the business’ overall product offerings. The position also requires close interaction with the sales, supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure designs meet cross functional requirements and are seamlessly launched into the business as available offerings. This leader will additionally maintain knowledge of all applicable codes and standards both domestically and internationally which will directly impact the design approach taken by the team. The ideal candidate should exhibit both exceptional communication and project management skills along with a technical background. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments and willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced engineering organization. Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead teams through the product development process including requirements development, technical design, vendor/subcontractor work, manufacturing/assembly, validation, and product release stagesMaintain up to date knowledge and throughout understand on all applicable codes & standardsOversee multiple complex schedules; setting priorities for internal engineering as well as procurement, manufacturing, and service teamsAdvise Company management of the program statuses on a regular basisCoordinate the efforts of the engineering, sales and production departments to ensure programs are conducted in accordance with the requirements of sales orders and budgetsIndependently anticipate potential schedule delays and initiate plans for alternative actions as needed; able to rearrange competing priorities to ensure all deadlines are metCoordinate prototype testing to qualify new designsHire and provide ongoing training to a direct team, acting as a resource and mentor for technical guidanceWork professionally and cooperatively in a cross-functional team environment with a focus upon maximizing system performance and customer satisfactionRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field of studyPMP certification strongly preferredPE license strongly preferredSupervisory experience strongly preferredMinimum of ten (5) years relevant engineering experience with minimum three (3) years of project management experience in product developmentExperience in any of the following is preferred and highly valued:Hydrogen and/or fuel cellsCryogenic IndustryHigh Pressure Systems (350 Bar and up)Gas processing and/or dispensing equipmentOil and Gas, CNG, LNG, etc.Ability to travel occasionally, up to 10% of the timeComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project and OutlookStrong verbal and written communication skillsExceptional organizational skillsDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholdersUncompromising dedication to qualityDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyAbility to role model high standards of professionalismExcellent follow-throughMust be driven and self-motivatedPay Rate:$86,815.00 - $138,904.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
