Mechanical Technician: A Shift: 6:30AM-7:00PM/Sunday - Tuesday, alternating WednesdaysStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly) Hours: Full-time Department: ManufacturingPosition SummaryThe Mechanical Technician will work under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in a support role for Manufacturing Engineering and the manufacturing floor. The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks that will maintain, repair, and optimize the performance of mechanical products, machinery, equipment, and the facility. The ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with operators, engineers, and management is critical.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork safely and promote safety during all activities.Follow and ensure strict adherence of safety procedures and checks.Inspecting, analyzing, and troubleshooting systems and equipment.Reading repair manuals and liaising with other professionals.Running tests and interpreting results to make effective recommendations.Sourcing replacement parts.Negotiating with suppliers and clients.Repairing or replacing faulty equipment.Fabricating any components required.Optimize performance of facility, equipment, and processes.Identify opportunities for improvement.Maintain working area in good working condition and well-organized.Keeping abreast of advancements in your field and attending workshops, as required.Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma.2-4 years’ experience in mechanical repair and or maintenance role.A relevant degree, certification, or license may be required.Required Competencies, Skills, and ExperienceAbility to follow health and safety regulations.Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.Strong organizational and time management abilities.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Willingness to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs outside of business hours.Ability to troubleshoot problems and assist with adjustments/fixes to maintain efficient throughput and quality.Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.Ability to read and interpret tooling and parts drawings including GD&TExperience using basic measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc.Experience with creating training documents and training of other employees.Proven capability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Computer skills as applicable to position including: Word, Excel, and Outlook.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to explain problems simply and clearly.Must be driven and self-motivated and possess a strong attention to detail.Must possess the highest ethical standards and a strong commitment to work quality.Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative, team environment.Preferred Skills and ExperienceExperience with precision formed parts.Experience with robotic cells.Experience with use of metrology equipment, such as optical measuring equipment to validate tool items and part formed features.Familiarity with Siemens Control Systems.Pay Rate:$22.12 - $31.68We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
