Sr. Test EngineerStatus: Exempt (salaried)             Department: TransportationPosition SummaryThe Sr. Test Engineer position will use their expertise to support Plug Power’s fuel cell products by defining, documenting, acquiring data, analyzing and performing tests on Plug Power fuel cell systems and system components.  The Sr. Test Engineer will analyze system related failure modes and be a part of the solution for improving system performance.  The ideal candidate will provide input to engineering for making changes to systems to improve system reliability. This individual will work with other software engineers to design and improve system performance and solve complex technical and business matters as needed. Accordingly, this candidate must be able to effectively communicate within the cross-functional team members. The ideal candidate should be creative, self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments within a fast-paced engineering organization.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesOutline diagnostic parameters to programmatically determine root cause via failure mode analysisTrack field performance activity and create analytics commensurate with current needsEnsure testing procedures follow compliance with required industry standardsDevelop testing protocols and solve complex technical and business matters as neededCreate and implement improvements to previous testing programsDocument technical improvements to system reliability, follow changes to completion over system life expectancyProvide technical training to internal staff members or customers as neededWrite and implement test plans for system and component level performance diagnosticsComplete various electrical and electrochemical testingSuccessfully integrate system data from customer sites for failure mode and root cause analysisAct as a mentor and resource to other engineers on the teamManage projects with a focus on delivering high caliber results in a timely fashionMaintain an understanding of high priority engineering projects and contribute to these projects as needed.Travel to customer locations, vendors and suppliers to perform technical functions including repair and troubleshooting as requiredRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Science, Chemistry, Physics or other related discipline; Masters preferredSeven (7) plus years or more years of related work experienceAbility to travel for business need up to 10% of the timePreferred with experience in C, VBA, LabVIEW, JMP, RSoft with proven experience with writing codeElectrochemical Diagnostics Testing experience is strongly preferredComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookExceptional data analysis and presentation skillsDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levelsAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailSuperior communication skillsExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityPay Rate:$75,240.00 - $112,860.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
